Your Guide to Brighter Days
Hello, I'm Emily, founder of Sandy Elizabeth Hypnotherapy.
My practice is named in loving memory of my mum, Sandy, who was herself a trained hypnotherapist. She believed deeply in people's ability to heal, grow and rediscover their strengths, and her compassion continues to inspire the way in which I work today. Creating Sandy Elizabeth Hypnotherapy is my way of honouring her legacy while helping others create meaningful, lasting change in their own lives.
I hold a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy, accredited by the International Hypnotherapy Association, alongside an undergraduate degree and a master's degree in the field of psychology. My training combines evidence-informed psychological knowledge with the powerful therapeutic benefits of clinical hypnotherapy, allowing me to tailor every session to the individual sitting in front of me. I like to ensure that my clients understand why we are using a particular technique and how it might help them so each step of the process will be explained in full.
Before becoming a clinical hypnotherapist, I spent many years working with children with special educational needs and complex backgrounds of trauma. This experience has given me a deep understanding of how early life experiences, relationships and patterns of thinking can shape our emotional well-being. It has also strengthened my faith in the flexibility of the human brain in allowing adverse experiences to be overcome. I have witnessed the lasting change that is possible when people feel genuinely heard, understood and supported without judgement.
Whether you are seeking help with confidence, anxiety, fears/phobias, unwanted habits, addiction, eating disorders, OCD, emotional issues, pain management, performance issues, health problems or pregnancy sickness, my aim is to provide a calm, safe and supportive place where you can feel comfortable to explore change at your own pace. Every person is unique so each session is carefully tailored to your individual goals using methods best suited to you.
Outside of my work, I’m a mum, a step-mum and a proud animal mum. Kindness and connection are at the heart of who I am and I aim to bring those values into every therapeutic relationship. I’ll meet you with warmth, compassion and without judgement, helping you feel relaxed, supported and in control throughout the process.
